Why SEO – a thermal lifejacket for Economic Ice Age!
Despite the many and varied articles written about how SEO is done, most people have only a vague appreciation of why it is absolutely essential. As the economic slowdown bites flows income, can afford to ignore a key web business strategy?
That includes a depressing number of web designers, some of them actually tell their clients that SEO is a waste of time and money, and that is totally unnecessary these days, because Google is smarter than never before … Au contraire – it becomes more and more critical every day, including web page numbers grow exponentially! Lack of knowledge is not limited to Web page designers also includes a number of aspiring SEO companies that make outrageous claims about their relationship and special affinity Google, etc. but have little idea of what it takes to consistently succeed in achieving Top 30 rankings.
There are many articles written about how the SEO, which covers many different aspects of the art of improving the position of your site in the pages of the search engine ranking (SERPs). Although most people have heard the term "search engine optimization" and have a more vague (or fear) expected results, people are surprisingly few seem to really understand why it is absolutely essential.
Be very aware that in most cases of web design is taught as an art, not as a business discipline. Web designers are rarely taught anything about search engines optimization, and few are interested in mastering the skills needed to produce optimal results. That's all fine and dandy – but leaves a lot of owners Website desperately disappointed by the mediocre! You've probably heard the analogy of building a store in the middle of a forest also, I bet? In Seriously, it does not matter how beautiful the site is – if anyone finds it, then it is just a waste of virtual space magnificent.
Content is still king
Despite the diverse views in conflict, Google conspiracy theories and misinformation, it all comes down to a very simple concept – the quality of content and content classification accurate. The content is in many places absolutely not! Sites that prosper are those with well-written content, original, interesting and useful and organized. Do not copy things from other peoples. Besides being illegal, at best discount immediately to the next best … As a rule general, from an SEO perspective, consider the more fundamental question – Google hates duplicate content!
Classification
There are literally millions of websites, each competing for viewers in a particular niche. Reasons for its existence in the spectrum varies from A to Z – advertising, entertainment, comedy, education, music, humor, information, news, promotion, sports, wine, video, zoo … you get the picture, right?
In the world of books that we have the Dewey decimal classification system. All published work is assigned ISBN numbers, libraries and classify all the books under a rigid hierarchical system of subject classification. It's not perfect, but it works pretty well because each one uses and understands! People write reviews of books, scholarly depth, which are sometimes included in advertising and promotions. Hold that thought, corresponding to a section next. You want to find a book on a particular topic or a specific author, you do a search and Eureka! You've found is a list, even! The best books are reviewed several times and take the place of honor in the best-selling rack.
Relevance ranking
Using different terminology, search engines are trying to do the same – to give their researchers the most accurate list possible, that contains exactly what want, so they can select and choose from it! Unfortunately, there is no Dewey classification system on the web. The closest thing to a hierarchical list is the subject Open Directory, Yahoo, or one of thousands of web directories – all of which are incompatible logical structures organized in completely different!
So, here we have Google and other search engines trying to index and classify courage billions of pages on millions of websites, hundreds countries in a multitude of languages. So, they must calculate relevance of each specific page of search queries …
Is helping or hindering?
That is where the scene … It is a great, great job – you made any effort from everyone to help Google help? Or is your website blurry and unfocused, with a clear statement of the content or purpose? In most cases, sites are built with vague intentions to do SEO as an optional extra in the future … What do you want Google to do everything for you?
Task Done?
Do you have any idea of how their search primary audience for the information, products or services you offer? Are your web pages describe content of terms by their customers to use? Because that's the only way Google can match searchers with relevant content! What? Actually forgot to do any market research before launching the site? You do not have accurate, researched, hard data about the keywords your potential customers use it? You asked his friends at work for ideas? Absolutely incredible!
Let us pretend that you are looking for customers for its small bed and business breakfast in Christchurch, New Zealand. You are optimistic that potential customers in New Zealand, Australia and the UK will be able to find its place among The millions of pages competing B & B on the web, being convinced of their persuasive advertising copy and elegant … images you also like to come and book directly with you to avoid heavy commission payments in dozens of B & B Advertising Directory sites that also want to pay for advertising! Dream on!
So you like Google work for you?
What would you like Google and others to help connect potential business customers through search engine results pages to make your site No. 1 … And certainly we want to "qualified" traffic Google, visitors who are specifically looking for exactly what you offer!
Anyone who thinks they can survive without Google's online, Yahoo and MSN and is a well rounded background idiot, or is a name that does not need to advertise to generate qualified traffic. There is no middle ground.
But here's where it gets hard! How can Google? What has provided solid information to Google on your content site, and in off-site contains links to your site? Do you have a domain name that encapsulates the business type and location, bed, breakfast Christchurch.co.nz? Or a cryptic name like; BnBChChNZ.com? Of the two, which is likely to give the SE the first track of what your site is about?
What is On-Site SEO
Think About this … Does your homepage have an explicit and precise title that offers a direct and unequivocal statement business purpose of the site 70 characters? Does the title says "Bed & Breakfast Accommodation, Christchurch New Zealand" or says "Welcome to Dusty Lodge" or something equally stupid?
Home page does have an explicit and precise description that provides a brief summary of his objective, unique selling proposition, and call action, encapsulated at 150 to 200 characters? Or contains some vague warm and fuzzy nonsense about the beaches and sunsets?
Keep the analogy the book in his mind, and browse to your home page, including the first title and first paragraph … "Welcome to my website" is not a productive approach! What visitors say about you? He says he is at best naive and both you and your web site designer need advice SEO! And to think that in the first paragraph … is an accurate summary of the reason for the site of existence? Delete this fruity, cheese, fluffy chatter away!
If your site has the obligation to deliver a return on investment, including through the sale of products or services, or customer service, inform and entertain, your really need to accurately describe the content of your website and allow it to become visible online. What I hear? Ah, you want to do rich too? But you really do not want to make a serious commitment and effort to do the job properly? Right … good luck with that! And remember the acronym Gigo old – "Garbage in, garbage out!"
What is the Off-Site SEO?
This may surprise you, but some people are dishonest about their site content. Frankly, some people handle the truth in a very awkward indeed … telling Google that your site is about Pamela Anderson, when in fact his sale of Bart Simpson comics is deuced annoying for people who visit it! Therefore, Google and other SE decided long ago that some verification outside the content of each website to help its efforts to deliver the most relevant SERPS for their clients. It makes perfect sense to me …
How this is done, I hear you ask. Well, you've heard of the links, right? Back to the book analogy – think of good links is like a series of reviews Book! What if many people are writing positive things about your site? What if multiple external wide distribution sites are saying that your site is about "Bed & Breakfast Accommodation in Christchurch New Zealand," eh? The balance of probability that your site is relevant to the search of this type is significantly affected by this external confirmation! A coincidence of keywords in the site content and links to outside sites Google greatly relieved! These keywords in the off-site links are known as anchor text, and should be the title of the link.
No, not Rocket Science
Frankly, the search engine optimization, not in the pure sense of the term, is particularly difficult to understand, or not do. The goal of search engines is to provide its customers with the content most relevant to the search they are doing. Therefore, salvation is that their content is relevant to searches known! Do some keyword research in depth, learn and understand your target audience seeking behavior. Plan of pages that the specific objective high volume search phrases under competition.
Google will not be vague, not the cookie, and help to help!
When the pan economic sauce is bubbling merrily, and no wider sauce-peak business, even the poor get a share. But when economic development casts Ice Age midnight shadows at noon, and the credit wolf packs soft filling the empty streets, sinister howling at the moon waning … and then when you're sucking the last frozen sauce stains out of your business website tarnished spoon, ask yourself … Can you afford your website to be of second category, disorganized and increasingly adrift in the icy wastes of mediocrity?
With a better understanding of why SEO is so important to the success of your site site, will you continue to ignore this?
